About
Troop 3 is a long-standing Scouts BSA troop in Lakeside that focuses on friendship, leadership, service, and fun outdoor adventures close to home.
With a welcoming, close-knit atmosphere, Troop 3 provides scouts with opportunities to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and create lasting friendships while enjoying an active year-round program. The troop meets regularly and participates in local campouts, outdoor activities, community service projects, and special events throughout the year.
Rather than focusing on intense backpacking or high-adventure programs, Troop 3 specializes in fun, accessible weekend campouts and activities that allow scouts to enjoy the outdoors while balancing school, sports, and other commitments. Scouts regularly participate in community events such as the Vista Viking Festival, Renaissance Faires, conservation projects, and service opportunities that help give back to the local community.
Troop 3 has a strong tradition of leadership and service within Scouting. Many of our scouts are active members of the Order of the Arrow and serve on C.O.P.E. staff, providing opportunities to develop advanced leadership skills and support other scouts throughout the council.
Whether you're interested in camping, community service, leadership development, making new friends, or simply having fun outdoors, Troop 3 offers a supportive environment where every scout can grow, contribute, and enjoy the adventure of Scouting.

Q&A
During meetings we go through requirements, planning, and teamwork exercises and games.
Every month we have at least one campout, running from Friday to Sunday. Many of our Scouts also volunteer for the COPE program, which helps build teamwork and problem-solving skills.
